About “Gamla och Fria”

“Gamla och fria” ist mein persönlicher Blog. Als Austauschstudent aus Graz, Österreich werde ich ein Jahr lang Architektur in der beschaulichen Universitätsstadt Lund in Schonen, Südschweden studieren. Ich werde, sowohl auf Deutsch, als auch gelegentlich auf Englisch, über meinen Aufenthalt hier in Lund, diverse Abenteuer in der Stadt, an der Uni und vermutlich auch auf einer breiten Palette an Parties schreiben und aus meiner Freizeit erzählen.

Meine Schreibmotivation ist einerseits, alle Leserinnen und Leser über (meinen) Alltag und das Land Schweden zu informieren und – ganz ehrlich – auch wiedereinmal ein bisschen zu schreiben, andererseits versuche ich in diesem Medium meine kulturellen Erfahrungen aufzuarbeiten, sie vor dem Verschwinden in das Dunkel des Unterbewusstseins noch einmal rational, dezitiert in textlicher Ausfertigung zu dokumentieren, zu reflektieren und gegebenfalls auch zu kommentieren.
Du bist herzlich dazu eingeladen, meine Erfahrungen hier mitzuverfolgen, weiterzugeben und herumzuerzählen – wie immer bitte ich dabei um sowohl Quellenkritik, als auch Quellenangabe. “Gamla och fria” is my personal blog, “me” being an exchange student from Graz, Austria. For one academic year, I will live and study architecture in the small university town of Lund in Skåne in southern Sweden. I will be posting in German as well as in English, mostly about my stay here in Lund, my adventures in the town, at university and most likely I will also tell a few stories about parties and freetime activity.

My motivation for keeping up this blog is primarily to keep friends, family and all other readers up to date about this place and about what I do here in Sweden. I also use this blog for getting back into my old habit of writing a bit and I especially use it to prevent my cultural experience from sinking into the subconscious darkness by documenting parts in published texts, in the process rationally reflecting and commenting on them.

You are invited to read about my experiences in this new country of residence of mine and to share, comment on and especially like my entries. I trust you will rethink my opinion before spreading it and give me credit in case you decide to do it.
